Maximize the number of people who get value out of PostHog, and help them realize and leverage all the value we offer.

What the Growth team does

  • Sign up and authentication
  • Activation
    • Global onboarding flow
    • Develop tooling for individual product onboarding and activation
    • Help product teams leverage the tooling to create best-in-class onboarding & activation flows for their products
    • Improve cross-product pollination
  • Product led growth
    • Develop new products and strategies to increase top of funnel
  • Anything billing
    • Billing infrastructure
    • Pricing & self-serve revenue (in collaboration with each product team)
    • Revenue reporting
  • Internal metrics reporting (company scorecard)

Q4 2023 objectives

  • Objective 1: Nail real-time revenue reporting and forecasting
    • Reasoning: We rely on these metrics to know how we are doing.
    • KR: Amortize invoices properly based on supply dates
    • KR: Split invoices based on item supply dates
  • Objective 2: Continue experimenting with onboarding and activation metrics
    • KR: Product-specific onboarding performs better than the old onboarding flow
    • KR: 2 experiments for Product Analytics & Session Replay activation metrics each
    • KR: Figure out how to track activation
      • Pin first step in funnel
  • Bonus Objective 3: Better understand what leads to revenue
    • Reasoning: We're still a bit fuzzy about what metrics are leading indicators for revenue.
    • KR: A company scorecard with actionable insights that help us understand where to invest
    • KR: An understanding (doc or dashboard) of how people use multiple products
    • Charles is the primary on this, growth is just here to help

  • Launch pricing for Data warehouse
  • Maintianing billing and revenue reporting / forecasting

How to work with the Growth team

In addition to covering specific areas of the product, members of the Growth team can temporarily join other small teams to execute jointly on growth-related tasks. This can be done by requesting help during Sprint planning, or at the beginning of the Quarter during the OKR definition phase.
